About The Author

Alex Schelldorf is a Word Person, production assistant, and video editor living in Washington, D.C. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications. He minored in creative writing. He is a native Floridian, and apologizes in advance for that fact.

Currently, he is an intern for NPR‘s Generation Listen, a division of marketing designed to “gather, connect and bring the younger, intellectually curious types into the NPR community.”

Previously, he:

  • Served as InternBot #037 for NPR Music‘s All Songs Considered
  • Was a production assistant, editor, and sometimes writer for Diamond View Studios, a video production company in Tampa, Florida
  • Interned for the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning radio production division
  • Worked with Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart for their coverage of the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa (“The Road to Jeb Bush 2016″)
  • Interned for the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning
  • Was a production assistant, editor, and sometimes writer for Diamond View Studios, a video production company in Tampa, Florida
  • Was a national finalist for a bizarre Old Spice contest
  • Has written for the Tampa Bay Times as a correspondent
  • Has edited and written for Indie Vision Music, an online music magazine
  • Co-hosted and produced three separate radio shows (Fire Escape Radio, Rock-it Radio’s Top 30 Countdown, and deConstructive Radio), totaling nearly 200 episodes
  • Hosted his own talk show, Small Talk, on cable access television in Jacksonville, Florida – when he was 10 years old

He is writing about an album every day of 2013 for his project One Record Per Day.

He uses and enjoys Apple products, collects vinyl records, and once made a complete fool of himself while meeting John Buccigross of ESPN.

He has the best dog in the world: Bowie, a Shiba Inu.

He does not enjoy writing “about me” posts.
